Barefoot Physical Therapy and Yoga operates as an 'Out of Network' provider and does not submit insurance claims. This allows me to deliver high-quality, individualized care without the restrictions imposed by insurance companies and with complete cost transparency. Removing the middle man means you always know exactly what you will be paying. No more annoying co-pays and surprise bills months after your treatment ends.
While I do not handle insurance reimbursement, I can provide you with a “Superbill” (a form that you can submit to your insurance company with all the necessary information you need and instructions for them to send reimbursements directly to you.) The amount you are reimbursed is dependent on your 'Out Of Network' Physical Therapy expense benefits. I'm here to help. You will find a worksheet I have created for you to use when you contact your Insurance Company in the Patient Portal.
Payment is simple and convenient. I accept cash, check, or Venmo, and payment is due at the time of service. This ensures a streamlined process so we can focus on your care without administrative hassles.
The possibility of reimbursement varies by insurance plan. I provide a detailed superbill, which includes all necessary treatment codes and information for submission to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Additionally, the "Patient Portal" includes a helpful question sheet to guide you when contacting your insurance company about coverage. I am here to assist you through this process to help maximize your benefits.
A superbill is a detailed receipt for your payment, containing all the treatment information needed to submit a claim for reimbursement to your insurance. It serves as an essential document for anyone looking to seek reimbursement for out-of-network services.
In California, you do not need a physician referral to begin physical therapy with me, thanks to direct access laws. Starting therapy without delay allows you to benefit from convenient, personalized treatment that's focused on your specific needs. However, some insurance policies may have their own stipulations, so I recommend checking with your provider using the form I have provided for you in the "Patient Portal" if you plan to seek reimbursement.
Working with me offers the advantages of a concierge service, providing comprehensive care in the comfort of your own home, saving you valuable time. Therapy decisions are made from expertise, not quotas. With "Out of Network" services we are not limited by insurance companies dictating what services I can and cannot provide. We simply make decisions on a personal level and treat you in the most efficient way without the consent of a third party.
With fewer visits needed to achieve the desired results, this approach is often more economical. You receive high-quality, personalized attention that focuses on your unique health journey, making the most of each session for a cost-effective and efficient recovery.
For Medicare Beneficiaries: The US government has some interesting laws that control where Medicare beneficiaries can spend their healthcare dollar and persuade healthcare providers to enroll in their system. Because I am not a participating Medicare provider, I can only accept Medicare beneficiaries as patients when the patient does not want Medicare billed for ANY PT services. This request to not involve Medicare in payment must be made up front by the patient and be made of the patient’s own free will. In other words, if you’re a Medicare beneficiary and are adamant about seeing me for your care even though we are not participating Medicare providers, I can help … However, the only way I can provide you with PT services is when you truly DON'T want Medicare involved and you ask up front that Medicare NOT be billed or involved in your physical therapy care.
If you DO want to use your Medicare benefits for physical therapy, I cannot provide you with treatment, but I am happy to help you find a good Medicare provider that is convenient for you.
